The subtle-ness is gone

Well, it happened.

I've posted a few times about the "filters" people use when speaking to pregnant women. You know, basically saying that you have gotten big, but trying to put a nice spin on it....

Today, that nice spin disappeared.

Someone I used to work with just came up to me and said,
"My, look how fat you've gotten".
What could I say but "Oh, thanks".
She continued to say that I was "positively glowing", but I couldn't get passed the fat comment.

Maybe it is better to hear people ask if I am having twins.

You have seriously gotta be kidding me? Who is this person and what right does she have? Take it with a grain of salt and laugh it off b/c that's gotta be the topper!! Love and miss you, Trace

Some people just have no clue.

Oh my gosh. That is kinda rude, isn't it?! Wow. Just ignore that comment and move on with your glowy-ness!!!

wow, that is a pretty rude way to phrase things. A good come back such as "well the fat will go away when the baby comes... it's a shame for you that ugly is forever"... okay, probably not a good idea to say that. It's fun to think it though!

I was as big as house when I was pregnant with my son. It was miserable.

You wont believe how crazy the memory of those comments will make you in your next pregnancy! Even if no one even notices.

I don't understand what happens to people when they interact with pregnant women. They really do lose all common sense, it's awful.
