Leisurely Day

Yesterday I took full advantage of my time off work. I decided to go to the Missouri Botanical Gardens, by myself. It was a beautiful day outside, sunny, but not too warm. They have a sculputre exhibit, Niki, on display and city residents get in FREE on Wednesdays.

So, I filled my water bottle, grabbed my camera and some grapes and went to the Garden.

The exhibit was really cool to look at. The artist creates these mosaic tile sculptures. Here are a few of the pieces....

I had such a relaxing time, walking around (until I started to get a little tired). Let me tell you though, a 38.5 week pregnant woman walking around by herself sure does get a lot of stares! I think people were looking at me, scared I was going to blow at any moment.

Oh what fun. You need a shirt that says something to the effect of, "yes, I am very pregnant, yes I'm hot, tired and hungry and YES, I am ready to have this baby!"

My personal favorite was when, after Sam didn't come by his due date and people would ask when I'm due, I could say, "I WAS due 10 days ago." Talk about getting some pity.

I'm counting down with you and very excited to hear this babe's name and see some pictures!

The fact that you went walking around by yourself... my goodness... Maybe they were determining whether or not to give you a standing ovation- but each one was simply to self conciouce to begin the clapping...

It sounds like a great day! I'm glad you are enjoying yourself for a few more days before that little person takes over everything.

Corie, I can see it now. You and beth have your babies on the SAME DAY! Your poor things!!! By this time I had already had both Maia and Noah, but I was induced because of high BP. I always wonder how long I would have went if they had came on their own. Have I told you how excited I am for you guys?! I AM!!!!! Glad you had a relaxing day! Keep it up :):) xo

p.s. I was out and about the day before I had both my kiddos. I remember Alexis shopping for clothes either the day before or 2 days before she had Sami. What's really funny is how you can be doing something completely normal and then "bam" a few hours later a baby is making it's way outa ya!!! So soon so soon and I can't wait. Betcha didn't know that! :c)

Hey, what is your mom's plans? Are you allowing her in the room with you during birth?

Sounds like a perfect day! Glad you had a few moments alone before the big day!

And Val, it was the day before. I wasn't off bedrest until then and still didn't have a coming home outfit.
