Filter-less

I have to share a conversation with you that I had the other day. You may remember in previous posts that for a couple of months, I worked at the clinic instead of the health department. Well, I went back to the clinic for the first time since October. Needless to say, my body has changed a bit over the last few months. I ran into one of the women who work in the lab. Here is our conversation.....

Her: "My, you've put on some weight"
Me: (a little taken back by her brutal honesty) "Baby weight" (protectively rubbing my ever-growing stomach)
Her: "Oh! I was looking at you and wasn't sure if you were pregnant. I didn't want to say anything"
Me: "Yes, I am. 20 weeks now" (thinking, you didn't want to ask if I was pregnant, but you had no problem calling me fat!?!?)

She must have forgotten to turn on her verbal filter that morning!
