A "Heavy" Post

Ok, I'm putting this out there in hopes that I feel some accountability.

I lost my pregnancy weight quickly and without any effort. (Don't kill me yet, keep reading)
Well, Chloe is 8 months old and I have put 14 lbs back on. I usually don't divulge my weight, but again, I am doing this in order to feel more accountable. At my 6 week checkup I weighed 142 lbs. Last week, I weighed 156 lbs.

I think it all went to my stomach. Needless to say, I am not happy about what I have allowed to happen.

I can make a million excuses. It's winter and we can't get outside to exercise. I baked ALOT during the holidays and ate whatever I wanted. It is easy for me to go to the fridge or pantry since I became a SAHM. Blah, blah, blah.

I feel yucky and unattractive. My clothes look awful on me. It just affects so many areas of my life. Not only that, it isn't healthy. And, I want to be healthy.

So, as of yesterday, I am changing my eating habits. I am watching my calories and portion sizes. I am making sure I get my fruits and veggies. I am not letting my snacks be the delicious, sugary kinds. I haven't decided if I am going to go back on Weight Watchers (I did this before our wedding and had great success). I am going to the gym at least 3 days a week. I have got to get the extra weight off.

My goal is to lose 20 lbs. I would like to lose at least 12 lbs by April 4 and another 8 or so by mid-May.

Feel free to be my accountability partners in this.

I lost most of mine quickly too - and now I am putting it back on! I think it is because I am not nursing much at all but I haven't changed my diet. Add to that not being able to get out the last week or so - and ugh! Hopefully we can both lose it again here soon!

Ha! I also lost mine quickly but that only got me back to about 14 lbs. heavier than when I got married (and my ideal weight).

Good for you for holding yourself accountable.

Let me encourage you to do WW. Since you had such good luck with it before AND it's not dependent on you getting to the gym. Working out is obviously good for you but it's a train that can get knocked off track so easily (business, sickness, life all get in the way).

I just lost about 10 lbs. in a month and a half doing WW and I didn't go to meetings or anything. Just had the slider and kept an eye on what I was eating. It's crazy how easy that came off!

Good luck and keep us updated :).

Oh, Corie, you know I'm right there with you.

I also have 20 lbs I'd like to lose. Something that Josh did for me, that at first sucked, but now I'm thankful for, he took away my scale.

I was totally making it a god. Getting on there 3, 4, 5 times a day! And since I haven't lost a single pound in months, it obviously wasn't helping! So, he took it, and I've been trying to be more mindful of my portions and whether or not I'm actually hungry or if I'm just bored.

It's been so nice not to have that dumb scale there.

Praying for you, totally with ya on it!

I will be praying for you!! It's so hard to lose weight..At least when my kids were younger I would use the excuse of 'just having a baby'...people don't buy that anymore when they are 18 and almost 9..ha So yes, I am right there with you...stay at home mom, I even have a pool (too cool to swim yet) but I truly have no excuse...I just have no self control. I struggle with that all the time..Please pray for me also..thanks!!!!!

your "not-so-love-ly" post may have something to do with this last post...it all intertwines! Once you get your life, marriage, etc in order everything else falls into place:) A lot of time us SAHM resort to food for that since of control until it's out of control. Just keeping it real, that's how I roll.

did you get those books I was telling ya about?

Have fun this weekend!!

I gained about 40 pounds while I was pregnant with Caitlin and now about 8 weeks later I have 8 pounds to go before being back to pre-pregnancy weight...but those 8 pounds have been sticking around for about 3 weeks! I just went to my first Stroller Strides class this week (very cool to be able to take Caitlin with me) and it was such a good work out. I have been following your blog for a few weeks now but this is the first time I have posted!

I am going to do this again along with you. I'm so unhappy with myself, I was doing so well last winter/spring and put it all back on again.

this is so funny you would post this, I just went downstairs yesterday I got out my WW stuff, and this morning I was telling Matt's mom how I have to do this or something, but it was so much easier when we all worked together, ate together, worked out together. and no kids to cook for or make sure they get what they need too! So i am on board with ya! But i am not going to post my weight!
