I Love A Party!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009
Welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by.

What better day to start the Ultimate Blog Party than the first day of spring? I love this time of year.

At a typical "girly" get-together, I would offer you a cup of coffee and some scones or muffins. You can kick off your shoes and pull up a chair. I want you to make yourself right at home here.

I suppose, as your hostess, I should introduce myself.
My name is Corie. I'm a 30 year old Christian, wife, stay at home mom, daughter, friend, book lover (and Book happens to be my last name), ice cream eater, and blogger.

I have an amazing family. My husband and I have been together for 12 years now, married for almost 4 of them. We met in college and dated for 8 years before we tied the knot. He's simply awesome. He recently switched jobs to become a High School teacher. And, he does personal training on the side... for a lil extra income since he fully supports me staying home with our daughter.

Last June, we welcomed our first child into the world. A perfect little girl, Chloe. She is 9 months old and an absolute joy to be around (most of the time). She is the reason I decided to quit my job and stay home. It is the hardest job I've ever had, but the most rewarding. I wouldn't change it for anything (on most days!). I love watching her learn and experience life every day. Right now, she is pulling herself up on EVERYTHING, learning to clap and wave hi, and babbling away. Did I say how much fun I am having being a mom?

As for me, I am just trying to do the best I can in life. I'm striving daily for a closer relationship with God. I'm trying to adjust to mommyhood and staying home. I did not expect to still be adjusting after 9 months, but I am. I am working on being a better wife and serving my husband in the ways God intended. I'm ready to be done breastfeeding so I can have some caffiene! Oh, and I'm still trying to unpack. We moved into our first house in October and my office is still filled with boxes. I don't think I will be getting any of that done this week. I'll be too busy meeting you! (smiles)

I'm so excited for this week of bloggin' fun. I hope to meet lots of new bloggin' friends. If you stop by, I hope you'll leave me a comment. I can't wait to stop by your party too!

*Oh, the prizes I would choose...
It was too hard to pick my top three, so I picked my top 6.
USC 11 — See Kai Run baby/toddler shoes provided by Traveling with Baby and See Kai Run
58 – Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer
USC 73 — Go baby OutMat provided by Go Baby
89 — $100 gift card to HomeGoods provided by HG Openhouse
16 — $20 gift certificate to Ladybug Limited
USC 58 — Handmade Retro Apron of your choice provided by Kati @ Country Girl, City Life and BoojiBoo!!

Or, any of the Target gift cards. Who couldn't use those?! :)

Hi! This is my first blog party. I just wanted to say Hi! I too am a SAHM. I love it. I have 3 boys, and my oldest is 4. So they keep me busy. Nice to meet you.

Hi Corie! Such a sweet little girlie you have there! We have two and I absolutely LOVELOVELOVE being mama to two little girls! I've enjoyed browsing around your blog! Congrats on the weight loss! I particularly appreciated your comment on structured flexibility! Sounds like me! Happy Spring!

Hi there! This is such a great idea, I'm finding so many great blogs and moms! It's my first time to this party and it's nice to meet you. You're little girl is adorable! I have two boys, and they are teens now, so cuteness is gone from my house. LOL! Thanks for inviting me into your little part of the blogosphere and the coffee hit the spot!

Happy Spring. I am here from the blog party. I also stay at home with my little girl. Thanks for the drinks and snacks.

Love this whole blog party thing!

Your daughter is adorable! I have twin girls and I think having little girls to dress up is SO much fun!

Hi Corie! I'm the free music girl. =) I'm responding to your comment - there's no email address to contact you at. You're the last and fifth person to receive a CD! So, Mercy Me isn't on BMG and Third Day has one album listed, but it's a premium title so I can't get it for free. Did you have another artist/album you like? You can email me; my email address is on my profile.

Love your blog party, btw. What a fun idea!

Hi Corie!

It's unusual to meet another girl-Corie :-). Your daughter is adorable. When I was reading your post, you sounded exactly like me. It took me some time to adjust to being at home all day...I think the first child was a harder transition than adding the second.

BTW...I usually just grocery shop at Meijer myself, because I can't drag my kids all over town. Then, I'll run to CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid, too - depending on the deals and if my 5 year old is in school :-).

You have a precious little girl.. if my last boy had been a girl, I would have named him Chloe Rose! Love that name.

I am a Christian, sahm/homeschool mom too. You're right, it has it's moments, but it is so worth it.

Nice to meet you. I added you to the blogs I follow! God bless!

Well it's my first blog party too..:) I too am a SAHM and love it. I quit my job 18 years ago when our first child was born and have been home ever since. Sure I have babysat thru the years for extra dollars or subbed at the kids schools, but we have been so blessed that I have got to stay home. I didn't say we were 'debt free'..ha everything comes with a price, but it's a price we are willing to pay. I was just talking to another girl about the whole working/SAHM mom thing..I have never once condemned a woman for working but I sure have had to defend my staying at home..I wouldn't trade it for nothing in the world. I think I have told you before..I too have a precious 'Chloe'..and she's the apple of my eye!! You all are doing an awesome job and I enjoy your blog so much!!!

So...about Twilight..hehe...OMGoodness..you will not be able to stop until you've finished the last book...seriously!! And, the movie followed the book pretty well, in my opinion...of course, I would have watched a 20-hour movie and been even happier..haha.

Well, I look forward to reading more of your blog...you seem like a kind and caring woman of God and I wish you all the best. Glad to be your bloggy "friend"..hehe...
